Pre-match Prediction: EURO 2012 Group A Second Round

The second round of Group A will see Greece facing Republic Czech while the host Poland takes on Russia. This will be tough match for Greece and Poland

Greece vs Republic Czech

Greece was down 1-0 against Poland and had to play with 10 men, but they came back strong and equalized the match. In fact, they could have won should Tyton hadn't denied the penalty. All in all, they look solid and disciplined. They were, of course, in better morale after the first match with co-host Poland, and are looking to eliminate Republic Czech from the tournament, if Russia beat Poland. This is the game they want to win before facing very strong Russia in the last game of group stage.

On the other hand, Czech was average and non-threatening in the game against Russia and let them dominate the midfield. The cohesion of team play was not there with no convincing possession. Valcav Pilar was the only spark which bring some positive hope to Czech's fans.

Although Greece will go for the goal, they do not posses a very strong offense so a minimum win for them would be enough. After that point, they will try to slow down the pace of the game with some sharp counter attack in place. Therefore, our prediction for this game is 1-0 in favor of Greece. Let's take a look at what odds are offered for this match

We would go for Asian Handicap 0 picking Greece over Czech. Odds offer is 1.351, which is a nice payout should our prediction pan out :)

Poland vs Russia

The co-host of EURO 2012 understands that anything less than a point out of this game would mean the curtain close for them. However, to be able to stay in this match against Russia is so hard. They were powerful, connected and creative. With everything they proved in the smashing win 4-1 against Republic Czech, clearly Russia is the favorite to win this game. With a 7-3 head to head record against Poland, would the "white eagle" able to hold them off?

Poland's strength relies on their attack, serving Lewandowski as much opportunities as they can. However, if they go attacking head on with Russia, they might not stand up to the onslaught long. Playing calm and cautiously is what the Poles have to do, but can they withstand 90 minutes.

At the moment, we think Russia is really hard to beat, not by Poland anyway, so we will go ahead and predict a 2-0 win for Russia. They will be most probably the first team to advance to knock off stage. Below is the odds and offers by 36BOL.

Recommended bet: Russia's Asian Handicap (-) 0.5 looks like an interesting bet at odds 1.515.
